Appearance

Behavior

Female mosquitoes need regular blood meals for protein production when laying eggs while males do not bite humans at all since they don’t need any kind of nutrition other than what they get from plants. Mosquitoes tend to be more active during dawn and dusk hours but some species may also be active during daytime hours if conditions allow them to do so. 

Where They Frequent

Mosquitoes can be found in many areas around the Memphis area such as wetlands, marshes, ponds, and swamps. They also tend to frequent areas of standing water where they lay eggs which are then hatched into larvae.
